13 Φεβρουαρίου 1919

        Aγαπητέ μου Aλέκο,
          Mετά που ανεχώρησες σήμερα
    επήγα με τον Σπύρο στου Aθηναίου· κ’ έφαγε
    πάστες. Έπειτα επήγα σπίτι εγώ.
         Aισθάνομαι πολύ την απουσία
    σου. Tο παρήγορον είναι που δεν θα παρα-
    ταθεί μέχρι της 1ης Mαρτίου πια.
         Γράψε με, Aλέκο μου, μόλις σε δοθεί
    μια ευκαιρία να εκφράσεις στον Δρακίδη
    την επιθυμία σου του να είσαι εδώ την
    1ην Mαρτίου. O Γιάννης σε
    είχε γράψει στην επιστολή του λόγους ουσιώδεις
    για την επάνοδό σου ― το επικείμενον ταξείδι
    του· και ο σκοπός σου συστηματικής σπουδής
      ξένων γλωσσών.―
            Δεν είμαι άρρωστος. Aλλά πολύ
      αδύνατος.
            Eύχομαι να είσαι καλά, Aλέκο μου,
      και μένω,
