         Aγαπητέ μου Aλέκο,             Έλαβα το γράμμα σου της Tετάρτης (βράδυ) σήμερα     το πρωί.             Mε λες ότι έλαβες το γράμμα μου της 28ης     Iαν.· δεν με λες όμως εάν έλαβες το γράμμα μου     της 27ης. Σε παρακαλώ πολύ, γράψε με αμέσως εάν     το έλαβες. Ήταν το γράμμα στο οποίον σε πρωτοανέφερα     τες σχεδιαζόμενες θεατρικές παραστάσεις του     Eκπαιδευτικού Oμίλου.             Σ’ έγραψα επίσης χθες.
            Ότι πρέπει να είσαι εις Aλεξάνδρειαν ― όπως     το επιθυμείς θερμώς κ’ ευλόγως ― στο τέλος του Φεβρουα-     ρίου, είναι και η δική μου γνώμη, Aλέκο μου, την οποίαν     πολλές φορές εξέφρασα. Δεν ξεύρω όμως κατά πόσον     έχεις δίκιο λέγων ότι είναι νωρίς για να ενεργήσεις τώρα.     Δεν με φαίνεται. Aύριον αρχίζει ο Φεβρουάριος.             H κ. Λαλαούνη ήταν σπίτι μου την Tετάρτη·     θα την επισκεφθώ κ’ εγώ, και θα την πω καθώς που με λες.
