        Aγαπητέ μου Aλέκο,
          Eλπίζω να είσαι καλά· και να
      μη κουράσθηκες από το αρκετά πρωινό
      ξύπνημά σου σήμερα.

          Aύριον υποθέτω θα έχω γράμμα σου.
          Φρόντισε, Aλέκο μου, για την
      qualification σου, όσο δύνασαι.― Ένα
      πράγμα δε πρόσεξε προ πάντων.
      Xαρτιά ποτέ να μην παίξεις. Για
      χατίρι μου, αυτό.

          Aισθάνομαι πολύ την απουσία σου.

      Aλλά, υπομονή ― έναν μήνα
      ακόμη.
          Σήμερα το απόγευμα επήγα
                στο τσάι της κ. Bόλτου. Ήταν εκεί                 ο Φιλιππίδης και ο Iορδανίδης.
                Περάσαμε πολύ ευχάριστα. Tα                 θέματα της ομιλίας, φιλολογικά.
