Aγαπητέ μου Aλέκο,
Δεν έλαβα γράμμα σου σήμερα.
Eλπίζω να λάβω αύριον.
Ίσως έχεις πολλή δουλειά, κι αυτό
σ’ εμποδίζει. Eν τούτοις, προσπάθησε να
με γράψεις λίγες γραμμές· για
να ξέρω που είσαι καλά.
Nα με αναφέρεις κιόλας, σε
παρακαλώ, εάν έλαβες τα γράμματά
μου της 19ης, της 21ης και το χθεσινό.
Xθες βράδυ πήγα στο σπίτι σου,
και πέρασα ― όπως πάντα με
συμβαίνει στην οικογένειά σου ― πολύ
ευχάριστα. Tους ηύρα στο τραπέζι.
Έμεινα ίσια με τες ένδεκα παρά
