Homemade book consisting of typewritten sheets, printed broadsheets and manuscripts. The “title page” is made of a cover from the 1910 poetry collection of Cavafy, with the printed title “C. P. Cavafy’s Poems” and the indication “Alexandria 1910”. Below the word “Poems”, the handwritten note by John Cavafy “Englished by J. C. Cavafy”. It is preceded by a quote of unknown authorship and followed by four pages of contents, with the poem titles in English. They are followed by the English translations of the poems. A total of forty-three of Cavafy’s poems are translated. Their titles are either typewritten or handwritten. In some instances, there are inserted printed broadsheets with the poems in Greek or parts of prints affixed on the existing pages. Cancellations and emendations in most translations, be they handwritten or typewritten. The date indication “1912” on one of the broadsheets. The 71 pages of the book are numbered, either typewritten or handwritten. The printed broadsheets are not included in the page numbering. The front and back covers are blank.
