Leather-bound volume, comprising typewritten and handwritten English translations of Cavafy’s poems by his brother, John. On the cover, the title “Cavafy Poems” in gold letters inside a gold border. On the “title page”, the title “Poems written in Greek by C. P. Cavafy translated by J. C. Cavafy” and the indication “Alexandria 1917”. Affixed on the page, using two English postage stamps, a print entitled “Poems by C. P. Cavafy. Translated, from the Greek, by J. C. Cavafy” and the indication “Alexandria 1918”. It is followed by two pages of contents and the poems in English. The titles of the four last poems on the second page of contents are handwritten. The pages are numbered (“i-ii” and “1-26”) at bottom centre up to page “21” and then noted at the top. Nineteen poems have been translated. All poems are typewritten, except for the last four that are handwritten on pages “22-26”. Handwritten cancellations and emendations in several poems.
