NAME OF CREATOR(S):
Identifies the author or the creator of the unit of description.
CONTENT AND STRUCTURE AREA
SCOPE AND CONTENT:
Provides a summary of the scope (such as, time periods, geography) and content of the unit of description.
Sub-file 1 contains documents of legal nature. Sub-file 2 contains manuscripts regarding the poet’s family and its members, covering the period from the 18th century to the times of C. P. Cavafy; it also includes family trees. Sub-file 3 contains notes of financial content, pertaining to Cavafy and written by himself. Sub-file 4 includes handwritten notes by Cavafy, of personal nature. Sub-file 5 contains items pertaining to the poet’s immediate family. Sub-file 6 contains ephemera (business cards, theatre programmes, etc.). Sub-file 7 contains printed media (newspapers and journals) and Press clippings. Sub-file 8 contains works by third parties.

Provides information on the processing, the internal structure, the order and the system of classification of the fonds.
The items inside each thematic sub-file have been arranged in chronological order.

The majority of the documents is written in Greek and English, while some are written in French.
