Cavafy’s poetry collection (Γ5). Bifolio of paperboard, which also serves as a folder , in lieu of a front and back cover. On another bifolio, made of paper, the title page and the table of contents (on the last two pages). On the first page of both bifolios, the title of the collection: “C. P. Cavafy Poems”, and the indication “Alexandria 1915-1925”. The last date is written by the poet. On the last page of the paper bifolio, handwritten dedication by Cavafy to A. Vlachopoulos. A blank sheet follows; eighty-four loose broadsheets and another blank sheet, all initially bound with paperclip, as indicated by the holes at top left of each sheet. At top right of the recto of the broadsheets, sequential printed numbering (“2” to “76”), occasionally corrected by the poet. Between sheets “17” and “18”, inserted sheet with polygraphed typewritten translation of the poem “One of Their Gods” by G. Valassopoulo, with notes by Cavafy. The poems are printed on papers of various qualites and with fonts of various sizes, on paper of the Kasimatis & Ionas and Mitsanis printing houses dating to the period 1919-1925. Table of contents with poem titles in chronological order, in two columns. The last three titles on the first page of the contents are handwritten by Cavafy, as are all the titles on the second page. Handwritten emendations in two of the poems.
