Georgios P. Charitakis (1885-1943) was a lawyer and an economist as well as an active member of Greece’s political, social and intellectual life. He wrote articles and studies on economic, historical and literary matters. One of his works was devoted to Cavafy. He served as minister in the governments of Pangalos and Eftaxias (1926) and in 1920 he was appointed prefect of Thessaloniki (Greece).
