Two handwritten draft letters to John B. Edwards The first is in English, on one side of three sheets. The first page of the letter is written on the verso of a printed broadsheet of the poem “That Is He”, which contains an emendation. The second page, numbered at top right, is written on the verso of a printed broadsheet with fragment of the poem “Morning Sea”, which also contains an emendation. The second draft of the letter is written in Greek, on both sides of two ruled sheets. Pages 3 and 4 are numbered at top left. Both draft letters refer to the English translations by Edwards of the poems “Walls”, “Candles” and “Song of Ionia”. Handwritten copies of the English translations of the three aforementioned poems by Cavafy on the recto of three ruled sheets, with the translator’s name noted.
