Takis Kalmouchos (1895-1961) was a painter. He was born at Argos (Peloponnese, Greece) and studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, graduating in 1921. For many years he lived in Alexandria (Egypt) and in Aegina (Greece). He mostly worked as a landscape painter and a portraitist as well as a book illustrator (as evidenced in the first collective edition of Cavafy’s poems in 1935).
