Gerasimos Grigoris (1907-1985) was born on the island of Leucas (Lefkada, Greece). He studied at the University of Athens Faculty of Philosophy, also attending courses in painting. He worked as a professional journalist. He published short stories, translations of Greek dramas as well as studies. He was awarded the state prizes for prose writing (1959) and for novels (1964) and was also decorated by the Academy of Athens in 1977.
