The theatre company “Nea Skini” was founded by Konstantinos Christomanos and was operational from 1901 to 1905. Christomanos’s artistic initiative contributed to the renovation of Greek theatre by proposing a different repertoire (it introduced Ibsen to the Greek audience and presented Greek drama in the colloquial Greek), by restructuring the expressive forms of actors through simplicity and naturalness in acting as well as by paying attention to scenography and to costumes. “Nea Skini” introduced important actors, such as Kyveli and Mitsos Myrat.
